An acrylic series about the relevance of a continent that is often treated as less than. These are abstract pieces that are intended to show the beauty of the simple moments. "Africa Hears" even when no one else in the world believes it does.
"Africa Hears"
Women's day collection
A colour pencil series of the faces of different women. The goal was to capture the essence of what it is to carry strength and beauty without pride. Wanted to show real people and leave room for interpretation of the characters, and hopefully, have people see themselves in the women.
Charcoal
A charcoal series where my goal was simply to display the rawness of human emotion and connection. An unapologetic representation of humanity. These were done at a difficult point in my life, where I didn't feel so connected to my emotions. It's my favourite series because it reminds me to enjoy my feelings even when they're difficult to navigate.
"You'd be yellow"
This is an oil pastel series. An old friend had said that if I were a colour, I would be yellow. I was thinking about it one afternoon while doing some sketches, and these came to be without me even really noticing until they were done. I hope to finish the series down the line.
