My book is finally out!!! It feels great, honestly. The hard part is done, and now I just need to spend the next couple of months marketing it so the world actually knows that it exists. For some reason, all my recent social media posts have had very low engagement, which has me a little concerned about what the reach will be for the months ahead about the book. But all I can do is pray for the best, and expect that the people who are supposed to see it, will. Even so, I need to keep reminding myself that once it's out, it's going to be out forever, and there's no actual rush to spread the word, even if it needs to be through consistent reminders throughout the rest of the year.
Now that the book is done, I can put all my focus back into writing my short film. I've been thinking a lot of director thoughts, and it's honestly so exciting to even be working on this at all.
I also choreographed more dances this month than I ever have. Most of which, I plan on sharing, but even the ones that I wasn't as proud of helped to clarify my style more, so I'm happy:) After last month's feat of my dance video being my highest viewed ever, it has encouraged me to share my dancing a lot more.
Despite dealing with the many 10-like videos this month, it's also been one of my most disciplined months of the year so far. I've also been the bravest when it comes to applying for creative grants, features and collaborations. And I haven't gotten them all (by any means), but even having the privilege of having the chance to audition and apply and meet these incredibly creative people has been so great and so encouraging when it comes to framing my expectations for myself.
I also performed my song "Abel's Offering" this month at church!:) It went incredibly and was probably one of my best singing performances ever. More than that, it was great to minister to people through the lyrics. Surreal.
Big thank you again to everyone who

I dragged to help me film any of my content. Genuinely, love and appreciate every single one of you. I haven't been the most motivated about recording content ahead of time. I've been in a big "I'm an artist, not an influencer" mentality, but I pushed through anyway for the sake of consistency and ultimately, more exposure. In the past few months, I've gotten engagement from a handful of theatre companies and agents through my social media (you can imagine how absolutely THRILLED I would have been about it). Obviously, people just viewing my work doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I like the idea of staying on the forefront of the minds of people that I would like to collaborate with/work for.
My biggest goals for next month are to be consistent with sharing my work online and completing the filming of my short film. I want this to be a slower month for me because I need the rest. More than anything, I would just like to enjoy the work that I do and spend a lot of my time developing the skills, purely for myself and without a finished product in mind.
Grateful for the work I've done so far and the people I've met along the way!
Bye!!! See you at the end of May:)
